I've realized over the past year that God loves to rain down passion on the hearts of His children. This passion could be for anything that gives Him glory or benefits His Kingdom. If we are willing to step out of our carefully constructed boxes to trust in Him, He is definitely able to give us the ability that we need to complete the task.
For me it is writing. He has given me a desire to write, and when I say a desire, I mean an intense yearning to have a notebook and pen, or a laptop in hand writing about Jesus. There are times that I will look up from writing and see that hours have passed. When I am driving, He gives me ideas about what topics to research, and I cannot wait to get home to put the thought on paper before I forget. I wake up in the middle of the night with thoughts to add to something that I am working on, and I cannot rest until I jot them down in the notes on my phone. Yes, it is a compulsion. William Franklin Graham said it this way, "When we realize and embrace the Lord's will for us, we will love to do it. We won't want to do anything else. It's a passion." This is true for me, my relationship with Him is all that I want to write about. This love of writing was given to me by Him for Him.
What do you get fired up about? What stirs your spiritual emotions? Do you ever find yourself on the edge of your seat when talking about the Lord? If not, pray for Him to give you a passion that is not easily extinguished by circumstance, but that is like a flame that He will continue to fan, making the fire in your heart grow bigger and bigger until He burns down all of your fears and hesitancy and you catch fire for Him!
