DAY 3 - OMNISCIENT
Omniscient means all-knowing. God knows everything, there is nothing that you can hide from him. Whether it’s your darkest secret or most sinful thought, He knows it all. From the beginning of time until now, there is nothing that is out of his reach. He knows your needs, desires, fears, insecurities, and He has a plan to use them for His glory, and so that you can become the woman that He wants you to be.
"Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account" Hebrews 4:13
Think for a second about your biggest secret, you know the one that you would never tell even your closest friends. The most secretive thing that you wouldn’t want anyone to ever know about you. Now imagine that someone found out.
How would you feel? What are you afraid that they would think?
Now I want you to realize that God already knows. He already knows every single one of your secrets, and fears. He already knows exactly what you don’t want the world to know, and why. And above all else, not only does He still love you, but if you have received Jesus as your Savior, there is not one single thing that you could ever do that isn’t covered by the mercy and grace that God gives. Your sins are wiped clean. Jesus already paid your price!
If God knows all our needs. then why do we need to pray?
God uses prayer, as a way for us to communicate with him. We don’t have very many close friends with whom we don’t talk to. What kind of friendship would that be?
The late Billy Graham said it this way: “When we open our hearts to Christ and commit our lives to Him, we become God’s friends — and one of our greatest joys is the privilege of talking with Him about everything. After all, that’s what prayer is—talking with God. Just as you can talk with a real friend about anything, so you can bring every concern and every joy to God in prayer.”
Psalm 139:4 “Before a word is on my tongue, you, Lord know it completely.”
Psalm 139:1-3 “You have searched me, Lord and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.”
Luke 12:7 “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”
I want you to notice in that last verse, Luke 12:7, that not only does He know everything about you, but you are WORTH much to Him. You are important to the Creator of the Universe. In 1 Samuel 16:7 we see that God doesn’t look at outward appearance.
“The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." 1 Samuel 16:7
He isn’t restricted to seeing what you present to the world to see. You cannot fool the Lord. Physical beauty, material wealth, popularity, God doesn’t care whether you have the most friends in the class or drive the coolest car. He cares about the state of your soul. He cares about who you are deep down when no one is around. Have you accepted Him? If so, are you walking with Him and maturing with every passing day? Are you trying to treat people with kindness and love as Jesus did? Are you sharing the good news of the Gospel with those around you by living a life of servitude rather than self-importance? Who you are at your very core is what He is cares about.
Today think about this question. Are you showing everyone the true you? The you that Jesus knows. Do you walk and talk the same way with your parents that you do with friends? Do you say things behind people’s backs that you would never want them to find out about? Are you the same person in public that you are behind closed doors, when it is just you and Jesus? I want you to consider your relationship with Him and how you can remain true to your faith while out in the world and distracted by the devil’s evil schemes to trip you up. Think of some ways that you can show more of your truth and light in the world?
Lord, we only show the world what we want them to see, but You see through all of it. We are so grateful that You love us so much. You know all our secrets and don’t run away. You know all our fears and don’t laugh. You know all our sins, and love us anyway. Thank You for who You are and how we can show You our hearts without fear. Please help us to have the courage to tell others about Your never-ending love and the hope that we have in You. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.
